Skiing holidays in the Ötztal

The wonderful scenery does not only inspire big dreams on the ski slopes, some of us cherish the more peaceful side of winter, offering more tranquillity and sometimes even the clocks seem to tick a little more slowly here. Leisurely stroll along the cleared winter hiking paths with the whole family and explore the Ötztal. Or put on your snow-shoes to go on fascinating tours in unspoilt nature. 

Ready – set – go, with your sledge. Feel the wind and the whirling snowflakes in your face as you cruise down the mountain. The sound of laughter accompanies every ride. Tobogganing is the perfect family activity. You can reach your starting point on the mountain by foot or with the Gaislachkogel cable car and the adventure is a lasting one as you cruise down 7.3 kilometres to reach the valley. At the Stallwiesalm you will find another toboggan run with 3.5 kilometres length. For those who did not have enough time during the day and those who just can’t get enough, the toboggan run is waiting every Wednesday night.

For beginners, for training in high altitude, for relaxation-seekers. The three special cross-country ski trails will make your heart beat faster. Start your adventure comfortably, also as beginner or restarter, at the Hofer Böden-Windau trail. Hit the trail in classical or skating style just a few metres from your apartment’s doorstep and accept the challenge on the 5.5 kilometres of the Zwieselsteinloipe. You are rewarded with wonderful views and idyllic scenery. In Untersölden you will find the third trail of the region. If you are looking for more cross-country adventures you can find them on 143 kilometres of meticulously groomed trails throughout the Ötztal valley – some with guaranteed snow for your training in high altitude. 

With so much snow and facilities your little ones will be speeding past you before you know it. Let them discover their love for winter while making a snowball fight, building a snowman and racing down the diverse slopes of the ski resort. The ski schools offer professional child care and committedly instruct your children to develop a love of skiing and an improvement of their skills – also for adults. The snow park Area 47 was designed with expert riders in mind, the Funslope and Kid’s Funslope incorporate banked turns, whoops and tunnels.
